Development of agro-energy and income for companies
Bio-energy supplies about 11% of primary energy. Agriculture will play a vital role in the production of second and third generation bio-fuels derived from cellulose-based bio-masses (non-food agricultural output, rice husk, sugar cane trash, agricultural residues, solid urban waste).
Suitable support policies will be necessary in order to encourage major upgrading in the sector. This will be one of the themes tackled at Bioenergy Expo (2-5 February 2012, alongside Fieragricola) during the Convention titled "The Role of Agro-Energy Policies in the Income of Agricultural Companies" (Thursday 2 February, Hall 10, 14.30 p.m.).
