FIERAGRICOLA - CROSSWAYS AND INTERNATIONAL. FOCUS ON SUSTAINABILITY AND CAP REFORM

2-5 February: Verona once again the European capital of agriculture

The VeronaFiere exhibition welcomes more than 1,300 exhibitors from as many as 20 countries with an international quota higher than 10% of total, over a area of 126 thousand square metres. Twenty thousand square metres will be available for dynamic tests. More than 320 buyers are expected from 46 countries. The event targets all operators in agricultural world and is structured around five shows: Agrimeccanica, Zoosystem:, AgriService, Bioenergy Expo and Agripiazza. Without forgetting precision farming, conservative agriculture, Agrilabor and the Forum on Sustainable Agriculture.

International. Targetting all operators in the agricultural world. Focus on common policies for growth and sustainability. Highly specialised. And especially, despite a market scenario that is certainly far from simple (the FAO estimates a fall in prices for the main primary products in 2012), dynamic ad expanding. Fieragricola testified by facts and figures: more than 1,300 exhibitors from as many as 20 countries with an international quota higher than 10% of total, over a area of 126 thousand square metres, not to mention 20 thousand dedicated to dynamic tests. And there's more: 750 heads of livestock animating the animal farming halls, 5 demo areas (four dedicated to engineering and one to energy from renewable sources).

The 110th edition of Fieragricola welcomes the "journey to the centre of the Earth" (the claim for 2012) and starts off from abroad. Internationalisation, the central aspect of VeronaFiere global management plan, is strengthened even further for Fieragricola.

The exhibition will be attended by more than 320 international buyers from 46 countries world-wide, 11 more that for the previous edition. Fieragricola (www.fieragricola.it) confirms its status as an "International Agri-business show".

Five theme areas. Fieragricola 2012 confirms the pillars of its exhibition and theme-based approach: Agrimeccanica (dedicated to technological and process innovations in the agricultural engineering, machinery and equipment field, with as many as five halls and 4 outside demo areas), Agriservice (innovative services for the development of agriculture, also including the Multi-Function Exhibition, opportunities for diversifying activity and sources of incme), Zoosystem (technologies and equipment for livestock breeding, products for animal nutrition and health, insemination centres and semen commercialisation companies, instruments and equipment for veterinary surgeons), Bioenergy Expo (the exhibition dedicated to energy from renewable sources in agriculture, www.bioenergyweb.it), Agripiazza (the exhibition of technical products for agriculture).

The keywords are transversality and sustainability. Fieragricola comes to the fore once again as an event targeting all the players in the agricultural value chain, with an broad-ranging exhibition offering, debates, technical and scientific meetings, shows and dynamic tests. A crossways event that at the same time ensures impressive innovative contents.

Fieragricola is an important showcase for agricultural entrepreneurs, breeders, agricultural mechanisation companies, veterinary surgeons, manufacturers and dealers in agricultural machinery, feed producers, industry producing goods for the primary sector, farm holiday centres and players in the short value chain. And each field is covered by specific spaces and targeted analysis.

A made-to-measure exhibition for everyone, with a focus on sustainability - one of the main themes at Fieragricola 2012 - starting from the Inaugural Convention (Thursday 2 2 February, 11.00 am, Verdi Auditorium) dedicated to the major topic of post-2013 CAP reform titled: "Towards the new Common Agricultural Policy: prospects, challenges and opportunities for sustainable agriculture." A debate that will also involve the Minister for Agricultural Policies, Mario Catania, the President of the Agriculture Commission of the European Parliament, Paolo De Castro, the Director General of the European Agriculture Commission, José Manuel Silva Rodrìguez and representatives of sector associations.

The main innovations. Complete and constantly updated information is available on the site www.fieragricola.it. The Forum on Sustainable Agriculture is a major initiative and an interactive occasion for training and growth of companies and agricultural entrepreneurs, in the light of a new model of Social, environmental and economic development of integrated agriculture in line with EU regulations.

The Exhibition of the sustainable engineering is increasingly specialised between precision farming and conservative agriculture: lower costs and lower impact on the environment are some of the immediate benefits.

New prospects for income and innovations will be ensured by the Multi-Function Exhibition, through opportunities in agriculture to diversify business approach (the multi-function phenomenon will also see the presentation of Nomisma research commissioned by Fieragricola and L'Informatore Agrario).

And Zoosystem returns with the 11th edition of the "European Open Holstein Show". A European comparison of Holstein cattle organised by the Verona Provincial Breeders Association, in collaboration with Aia, Apa Verona and VeronaFiere.

Animal farming in the limelight with the Technical-Informative Exhibition of breeds reared in Italy organised by the Italian Breeders Association in collaboration with National Breeder Associations for breeds and species; with the national Swiss Brown Cow exhibition and the Interbull Workshop. The objective of the project is to create a world database, implemented thanks to sharing information associated with genomics, starting from a controlled heritage of 1 million animals world-wide.

The new Fieragricola observatory will focus on employment: Agrilabor, dedicated to the new professions associated with agriculture, as well as encouraging contacts between supply and demand in the agricultural engineering employment field.
